Tick tock

I don't know if it's the ADD or if I just get bored easily, but every few months I have to do some sort of craft project.  Unfortunately for Jay, I always do something different so I have supplies at the ready for almost anything... Hot glue guns, glitter, knitting and crocheting stuff, yarn and ribbon out the wazzo, of course scrapbook supplies everywhere, paint, jewelry making kits, and more.  He's a lucky guy, I know. :)

So, since I'm always running late I fell in love with a clock just like this one I saw online.  So I made myself one.

Snazzy, I know.  Now, where should I hang it?  Maybe replace my wreath I made out of coffee filters (2nd quarter 2011) or the corkboard I made out of wine corks (circa 2010) or my Christmas wreaths I made out of yarn (December 2011)....

Say it once, say it right

Sam: Addi, let's play the three Muss-a-teers!
Addi: Ugh, Sam, it's not the three mussateers. It's the three Musk-ta-teers. [rolls eyes]

I'm really glad she cleared that up.

28. Clean out my Facebook friend list and delete the bad apples

Well, this one is kind of hard to blog about.  But I did it.  I cleaned out my Facebook friend list.  Then, I added a few more friends.

THEN, I realized I have a slight addiction to Facebook, so I gave it up for Lent.

And two weeks in, I miss it everyday.  I think of it longingly.  And I stop myself multiple times a day from checking in, just to say hi.

Maybe I should have deleted my Facebook instead of just friends.  :)

27. Take a road trip

When I wrote my list of 33 things to do while I was 33, I tried to come up with things that were fun, but not everyday things to do, and things that would be a bit out of my comfort zone. For some of them (like buying a new purse), they are more out of Jay's comfort zone than anything.

So, taking a road trip might not seem wild and crazy, but with two kids who like to stick to a schedule, impulsive weekend trips aren't always easy. So, when our friends asked if we'd like to go to Chicago for a long weekend and hit up an indoor water park hotel, we said yes!

I took pictures and videos but I'll sum it up for you here quickly. It was fun, relaxing, great to hang with old friends, the kids had a blast swimming and making lipgloss at the kid spa and playing in the arcade, and we ate halfway decent food.

Maybe next year we can be more spontaneous, but for this year our road trip was perfect.
