Tales from the Belly

Addi is fascinated with belly buttons. When I had my c-section I also had hernia surgery, so she was told to be really careful when jumping on me because of the incision on my belly button. And of course we had to wait on Sam's belly button to heal, so since then she's always checking them out.

One night last week we were sitting on the couch and Addi lifted my shirt and pointed to my belly. This conversation followed. I either have a brilliant child or one with a great imagination... you be the judge.

Addi: "There's Mommy's booboo," and points to my belly.

Me: "Yup, but it's all better now, right? That's where Sami came out."
Addi: [nods knowingly]
Me: "You know that you were in my belly too once, right? Just like Sami."
Addi: "Yup!"
Me: "Wow! You were a baby, then you got big. Do you remember what was it like in there?"
Addi: Thinks for a minute, then says: "Sticky."
